Maternity Technician 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars Okeechobee, FL Position Summary We have an immediate opening for a dynamic, detail oriented individual to join our team as an Maternity Technician. Reporting to our local Technician Team Leader and working as a key member of our Alta Genetics USA Tech Services Inc. company, this role is responsible to provide maternity support and labor service to assigned customers.
Location:
working in and around Okeechobee, FL Primary Responsibilities Accurately follow on-farm procedures as designated by each individual technician Provide for the safe, efficient and successful processing of Maternity animals of customer herds Cooperate with farm management and other farm advisors (Vet, Nutritionist, etc.) to integrate Alta Genetics service offering into a total farm management plan Help locate, train and develop competent relief help Provide accurate and timely reports when specifically requested Provide timely response to requests for information Cooperate with farm management and other farm advisors (Vet, Nutritionist, etc.) to integrate Alta Genetics service. Develop improved practices in animal feeding, housing, sanitation, or parasite and disease control. Ensure protocols are followed for nutrition, reproduction, growth, and development of cattle to improve herd health. Qualifications Demonstrated experience working with and handling cattle Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must possess communication and people skills Willingness to learn and develop both personally and professionally Computer skills are required; and ability to work with herd management software is a plus
