Full Job Description Description:
Creation Village World School is seeking a responsible and enthusiastic on-call, part-time Farm and Garden Assistant (up to 10 hours per week). This hands-on role supports the daily upkeep and growth of our Farm and Garden Program, a key part of our nature-based learning environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, is dependable, and is passionate about sustainability, stewardship, and serving our school community. Key Responsibilities Assist with daily care of garden beds, greenhouse plants, and farm areas (watering, weeding, harvesting). Support animal care routines (feeding, cleaning enclosures, monitoring wellbeing). Help with composting, recycling, and other sustainability efforts on campus. Prepare and organize tools and materials for class visits or special projects. Maintain cleanliness and order in the farm and garden areas. Provide support during seasonal planting, harvesting, and garden workdays. Report any issues related to plant health, animals, or equipment to program leadership. Occasionally assist with student learning experiences by helping set up and supervise simple activities.
Requirements:
Qualifications Comfortable working with students and staff in a school setting. Strong organizational and communication skills. Commitment to the mission and values of Creation Village World School. Willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather Previous volunteer work in the CVWS farm and garden Basic understanding of or interest in gardening, animal care, or sustainability Reliable, self-motivated, and able to follow instructions with minimal supervision Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
