Corn Harvesting:
Field:
Workers will be in the appropriate section of the corn fields that are ready for harvest. Worker will pick by hand, the corn on the stalk, by grabbing and twisting the corn and tossing the corn onto a platform on the mule train. Workers will repeat this process to finish the production request for the day.
Mule train:
Workers will be standing on the machine that will be in the field, called a mule train, where they will be grabbing the corn off the platform and packing the corn into wooden crates then passing them to a worker that will tie the crate closed with a wire tie. All workers will repeat this process until production is completed for the day. Mule train
Driver:
Worker will operate the Mule train truck in the field only and move forward as workers complete harvest in each section of the field. Driver will occasionally perform minor repairs or maintenance on the mule train truck shall any minor mechanical issues occur. All farm workers must be able to walk and/or stand for long periods of time, bend continuously, lift between 20-60 pounds, and must be able to withstand long periods of sun and heat exposure. Employees may volunteer to work additional hours when available. Workers should expect occasional periods where there will be little to no work due to weather, crop complications such as disease, or other conditions beyond the employer?s control. These periods of little to no work can occur anytime throughout the harvest season. A copy of the work contract or a copy of the ETA790 in lieu of the work contract, and any modifications, will be provided to the H2A worker no later than the time at which the worker applies for the visa, or to a worker in corresponding employment, no later than on the day the work commences.
Pay:
Florida Adverse Effect Wage Rate (AEWR) – $16.23 per hour

Hours:
35 hours per week
Days/Hours:
Monday thru Friday 6 hours per day and 5 hours on Saturday.
Work may be offered but not required on Sundays and holidays. Extra work hours may be offered based on weather and other conditions. F. Employer will refund workers living outside commuting distance the reasonable transportation and subsistence costs to report for the first day of work on the 50% date. Will provide workers who complete the contract period the reasonable cost of transportation and subsistence to return to place of recruitment or to report to the next H-2A job. G. Housing and Board.
Housing:
Will provide free housing for workers who arrive from outside daily commuting distance.
Family housing is not available.
Meals (Board): Employer will provide a free and convenient kitchen and transport workers to a grocery store at least once per week. Workers will purchase and prepare their own meals.
Housing meets the requirements of Federal, State and Local regulations. Rules regarding living accommodations will be found in the Clearance Order. Transportation provided by the employer meets the requirements of Federal, State and Local regulations. H. Prohibition against preferential treatment of aliens: The employer’s job offer must offer to U.S. workers no less than the same benefits, wages, and working conditions that the employer is offering, intends to offer, or will provide to H-2A workers. Job offers may not impose on U.S. workers any restrictions or obligations that will not be imposed on the employer’s H-2A workers. This does not relieve the employer from providing to H-2A workers at least the same level of minimum benefits, wages, and working conditions which must be offered to U.S. workers. I.
