Job Description
Post-Harvest Technician 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars 30 Mozzone Boulevard, Taunton, MA 02780 Commonwealth Alternative Care is seeking motivated individuals to join our fast-paced and growing team. As a Post-Harvest Technician , you will be responsible for processing cannabis plants through various stages including bucking, trimming/manicuring, curing, and testing . This role requires a strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and a passion for cannabis cultivation. The ideal candidate will be reliable, efficient, and committed to maintaining high-quality standards. Our goal is to process dried cannabis with care and precision to meet the needs of our patients and ensure consistent product quality.
Responsibilities:
Stay up to date and comply with all industry regulations set forth by the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission . Always adhere to safety policies and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) . Demonstrate dependability and professionalism by arriving on time and working the full scheduled shift. Sanitize and clean workstations, including grow and dry rooms, to maintain a hygienic environment. Carefully and efficiently trim at least two pounds of dry cannabis per shift while maintaining product quality. Buck cannabis from stalks, preserving flower integrity and properly disposing of waste material. Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper documentation of harvest batches in the state-mandated tracking system . Perform sanitation and decontamination tasks in a highly productive and efficient manner. Separate and track cannabis buds, trim, stems, and waste material; complete and verify all required paperwork. Report any abnormalities (e.g., mold, seeds, pests) to a manager or supervisor immediately. Take accountability for all product handled during the shift. Continue education on cannabis strains, products, and industry developments during downtime. Foster a positive and proactive work environment by maintaining a positive attitude and self-motivation . Work toward meeting and exceeding personal and company goals for product quality and efficiency. Demonstrate flexibility by assisting other departments or locations as needed. Exhibit strong multitasking skills and adaptability to changing procedures and priorities. Take initiative and ownership of tasks, ensuring high standards of work and attention to detail. Identify and troubleshoot potential issues with plants or processed products.

Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years old High School Diploma or GED required Basic understanding of Massachusetts medical/recreational marijuana laws and Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) regulations Basic knowledge of how to use a scale for weighing product Ability to analyze materials/products for abnormalities (e.g., mold, pests, seeds) Strong multitasking skills and ability to pivot quickly between tasks Adaptable to changes in policies, procedures, methods, and techniques Cannabis knowledge or experience is a plus! Willing and able to work a flexible schedule , including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on department needs Every job applicant must pass a comprehensive background check, including the mandates of the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission. A job offer issued before the completion of a background check shall be contingent upon a positive result. A negative background check result may result in the withdrawal of a job offer.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds and repeatedly carry 15-20 pounds across the warehouse or greenhouse. Ability to maneuver between growing tables spaced 24 inches apart . Capable of standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks such as kneeling, stooping, bending, and twisting in confined spaces. Comfortable working in hot, humid environments with exposure to dust, allergens, and water . Frequent and repetitive use of hands for trimming, bucking, and other manual tasks. Able to sit or stand for 8+ hours while performing repetitive hand movements.
