Horse Farm Worker Black Forest Shires & Gypsy Horses Garden City, MO 64747 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated, reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as Farm Help on our Gypsy and Shire Horse farm. This role involves a variety of tasks essential to the daily operations of our equine facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horse care and a willingness to learn about the operations of an equine breeding facility. Responsibilities will include working with foals and adult horses; brushing, bathing and clipping this year’s foals. Responsibilities Perform daily care for horses, including feeding, keeping water troughs clean and full, stalls clean and grooming horses. Work with young foals to teach basic manners, picking up feet and body clipping them. Perform heavy lifting to keep stalls clean and move hay, feed and bedding. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the barn and other facility areas. Help with horse and foal handling while owners perform ultrasound breeding checks and service mares with our stallion. Base hours would be approximately 20 per week but extra hours are available to a person who can operate equipment such as lawn tractors and weed trimmers. We like to keep the facility neat and tidy. Experience Previous experience working with horses is mandatory. Familiarity with equine care practices is a plus. The position can expand depending on the skills of the person who assumes this role.
