Role:
The Grain Facility Operator plays a crucial role in the agricultural supply chain by ensuring the efficient operation of grain handling and storage facilities. This position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining equipment, managing grain quality, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Operators will work closely with team members to coordinate the loading and unloading of grain, as well as perform routine inspections and maintenance on machinery. The ultimate goal is to facilitate the smooth flow of grain from producers to consumers while minimizing waste and maximizing quality. This role is vital in supporting the local economy and ensuring food security in the region.
Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor grain handling equipment, including conveyors, dryers, and storage bins. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to ensure optimal performance. Manage the loading and unloading of grain trucks and railcars, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Conduct quality control checks on grain to ensure it meets industry standards. Maintain accurate records of grain inventory, equipment maintenance, and safety inspections.
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a grain handling or agricultural environment. Basic mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Knowledge of agricultural practices and grain quality standards.
