4300 Belgium Blvd. STE 200 Riverside 64150 Purpose of Role The IPM Lead is responsible for implementing and overseeing all aspects of the facility’s Integrated Pest Management program. This includes proactive scouting, pest/disease identification, treatment execution, and data tracking. The IPM Lead ensures regulatory compliance and supports optimal plant health across all cultivation zones. This role also supports general cultivation duties across departments as needed, requiring flexibility, reliability, and professionalism. 1. Chain of Command Reports directly to the Assistant Cultivation Manager, with final oversight by the Cultivation Manager. Collaborates with departmental leads to coordinate treatment windows and access. May direct team members during IPM-specific tasks when assigned by management. Participates in cross-departmental activities and general cultivation operations as directed. 2. IPM-Specific Responsibilities Conduct weekly monitoring and scouting of all cultivation zones to identify early signs of pest or disease pressure. Develop, maintain, and adjust a comprehensive IPM plan, including: Biological controls (e.g., beneficial insects, predators) Mechanical/physical controls (e.g., trapping, vacuuming) Chemical applications (e.g., foliar sprays, drenches) Ensure proper concentration levels and application coverage to protect plant health and meet compliance standards. Track pest and disease trends, adjust treatment schedules accordingly, and log treatment efficacy. Follow and adjust spray schedules in coordination with iControl and lighting systems to minimize crop damage. Prepare and implement zone-based garden maps and pressure tracking documents. 3. Technical and Compliance Duties Operate and calibrate IPM-related tools and systems, including: Growlink for root drenches iControl for environmental adjustments during treatments Mix and apply bulk IPM solutions using fertigation tanks when necessary. Clean and maintain stock tanks to prevent chemical cross-contamination. Conduct soil, water, and tissue sampling when requested by management. Maintain up-to-date IPM records and ensure audit readiness at all times. 4. Equipment and Facility Management Maintain a clean and organized IPM workstation and chemical storage area. Clean and disinfect application equipment regularly. Report equipment issues or safety concerns immediately to management Monitor and supervise the safe use and storage of all pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. 5. Leadership & Training Train team members in IPM protocols, safe chemical handling, and PPE compliance. When designated by management, lead small teams during high-pressure or time-sensitive pest control procedures. Provide feedback to management to improve efficiency, safety, and overall plant health outcomes. 6. Cross-Departmental Support Provide general cultivation support when not actively engaged in IPM-specific tasks.
This may include:
Plant shaping, pruning, or defoliation Transplanting, emitter checks, or irrigation monitoring Cleaning, resetting rooms, or equipment maintenance Support harvest and post-harvest procedures as needed to meet production goals. Remain flexible and responsive to support broader team success across departments. 7. Professional Conduct Maintain a high standard of attendance and punctuality to ensure continuity in pest management schedules. Limit phone usage to emergencies only. All team members are expected to remain focused and productive while on the clock. Adhere to all PPE protocols and safety procedures. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor to support team morale and uphold company values. Communicate clearly and promptly with management regarding observations, concerns, or equipment failures. Follow all SOPs and safety protocols. Stay on task and ready to work during all working hours.
