Swine Farm Maintenance Technician HD3 Farms of the Carolinas, LLC Elizabethtown, NC 28337 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in animal care, particularly in equine and veterinary settings. This role is essential for ensuring the proper maintenance of facilities and equipment, contributing to the overall well-being of the animals we care for. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities to ensure optimal operation. Conduct inspections of mechanical systems and equipment to identify issues and implement solutions. Assist with animal handling, restraint, and care as needed, ensuring safety for both animals and staff. Engage in heavy lifting tasks related to maintenance activities and animal care. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory management. Collaborate with staff to ensure that all equipment is functioning correctly for animal health needs. Utilize basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and inventory tracking. Experience High School Diploma or GED Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in maintenance or repair work. Familiarity with equine or veterinary environments is highly desirable. Experience in animal handling and restraint techniques is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge or AC/DC controls and power electricity Knowledge or Hydraulic, pneumatic and piping systems preferred Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
