Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Part-Time Dairy Farm Hand to join our team. This role involves caring for a small herd of dairy show cows, managing feeding routines, and maintaining cleanliness in the barn. The ideal candidate will have experience working with cows, a strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for agriculture and animal care. Your role will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our farm and the well-being of our cattle.

Key Responsibilities:

Milking:

Milking a small herd of dairy show cows efficiently and hygienically.

Feeding:

Feeding calves, heifers, and providing hay and baleage to different groups of cattle.

Stall Maintenance:

Cleaning box stalls and ensuring a clean and safe environment for the animals.

Milk Handling:

Bottling milk and handling it appropriately to maintain quality.

Barn Upkeep:

Cleaning and scraping barn areas to maintain hygiene.

Additional Tasks:

Performing other tasks as needed to support farm operations and ensure animal well-being.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working with cows or in a dairy farming environment is required. Demonstrated strong work ethic and ability to handle physically demanding tasks. Passion for agriculture and animal care. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to handle various tasks as they arise and adapt to changing needs.
