As demand continues to grow, they are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Weed Technician to support and lead the delivery of their high-quality service programs.
Responsibilities:
Schedule and manage assigned account workload with a focus on production efficiency, service quality, and achieving a daily production goal of $1,200. Maintain frequent communication with clients to provide updates on completed and upcoming services, offer turf improvement recommendations, and promptly address any service-related concerns. Stay current on industry advancements by researching new products, technologies, and techniques related to landscape pest control. Support the management of all program materials, including pesticide and fertilizer inventories. Participate in the ongoing evaluation and improvement of the Weed & Feed and Shrub Care Programs. Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols involving the use of agricultural pesticides and fertilizers to protect clients, pets, property, the public, and yourself. Foster a strong customer service culture while promoting a safe and positive work environment. Assist in the marketing of company service offerings. Attend and assist with regular company training sessions and continuing education activities as required. Coordinate service and repair schedules for assigned Weed & Feed department vehicles and equipment with the company mechanic. Accurately complete and submit daily records, including time sheets, service tickets, and pesticide application logs. Perform weekly maintenance on all assigned equipment to ensure reliability and performance. Maintain compliance with all relevant licensing requirements. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety standards, and codes of conduct. Qualifications NCDA Ground Pesticide Applicator License (Category 026 – Turf & Ornamental) required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire. – In lieu of current licensure, candidates must demonstrate proper calibration, application techniques, and safety practices. 2+ years of customer service experience with strong communication skills. Degree in Horticulture or related field preferred; may substitute with 5+ years of hands-on experience in turf or landscape chemical application. Solid understanding of agricultural chemicals, labels/MSDS, rate calculations, and equipment calibration. Must attend ongoing training (e.g., through NC State) as required. Valid NC driver’s license and insurable driving record. Familiar with best practices in turf and landscape care. Ability to identify common turf and plant types, weeds, insects, and diseases in Zone 7. Knowledge of current chemical and fertilizer technologies used in turf, tree, and shrub care. Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel). Ability to work outdoors in all weather and around environmental hazards (bees, pollen, poison ivy, etc.). Physically able to perform labor-intensive tasks, including bending, kneeling, lifting, and overhead reaching. Must comply with all company policies and safety standards.
