Fertigation Manager 2.5 2.5 out of 5 stars Paulsboro, NJ 08066 ABCO Garden State is looking for a Fertigation Manager to join our dedicated team. Job Overview The Fertigation Manager manages a variety of significant tasks, therefore must be a good communicator, provide clear and concise instruction, delegate when necessary, and implement company policy. The Fertigation Manager will be responsible for ensuring all essential functions regarding irrigation and fertigation inside the cultivation department are executed and documented in alignment with the production schedule, ensuring that all irrigation and nutrient feeding requitements are followed accordingly, and that strain-specific needs are met. The Fertigation Manager will report to the Director of Cultivation.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Works in conjunction with the reporting managers in planning and implementing an efficient irrigation program Ensures that irrigation and fertigation duties are completed in accordance with the cultivation schedule Collect and report the nutrient concentrations within the growing media Conducts regular walks of grow rooms to review and ensure proper distribution of irrigation is achieved Installation of new irrigation lines and emitters each week for production Observing and confirming that each drip line is functioning properly on an ongoing basis Supervises application of liquid fertilizers and refilling nutrient tanks within the facility on a weekly basis Sanitation of irrigation lines and work area Executing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures Provides proper training and development of irrigation personnel Fertigation manager will also be “on call” on off schedule days to ensure all indoor facilities are being irrigated in case of a call out from the weekend fertigation technician.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree with emphasis in agricultural studies or a minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience working in the Cannabis industry, including working with chemicals and fertilizer applications. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted that provides the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Cannabis, greenhouse, floral or vegetable crop experience required. Have a trained cultivator’s eye and when procedures aren’t being executed properly, make necessary corrections. Awareness and understanding of harvest schedule and proficiency at all tasks in relations to cultivation. Prepares and uses computer spreadsheets, word processing systems and electronic communications (MSOffice based). Ability to multi-task with excellent follow through skills. Strong communication skills and strong attention to detail. High-energy, enthusiasm and the willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done. Willingness to teach/train production associates. Ability to problem-solve and take initiative. Ability to collaborate with the production teams effectively. Skilled in general computer operating systems and applications. Ability to visually examine products for quality and signage/labeling accuracy. Have you ever had a Cannabis Business Identification Card?
