Job Description
We are looking to expand our service team with an experienced Irrigation Service Technician. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of installation and service experience, be available to work in NJ & the 5 boroughs of NYC and is comfortable communicating with clients.
Responsibilities
- Install, test, and troubleshoot irrigation systems, including sprinkler heads, valves, pipes, pumps, and controllers.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on irrigation systems to ensure proper function and efficiency.
- Adjust watering schedules and system settings based on seasonal needs, weather conditions, and landscape requirements.
- Inspect and diagnose irrigation system issues, such as leaks, clogs, pressure problems, and electrical malfunctions.
- Replace or repair damaged or malfunctioning irrigation components.
- Conduct system start-ups in the spring and winterization procedures in the fall.
- Ensure compliance with local water conservation regulations and best practices.
- Work with clients or property managers to assess irrigation needs and recommend improvements.
- Keep records of maintenance, repairs, and system adjustments.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ Experience in irrigation system installation, repair, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of irrigation system components, including valves, controllers, and backflow preventers.
- Understanding of water conservation practices and irrigation efficiency principles.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and irrigation plans.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license
- Certification (e.
g., Certified Irrigation Technician – CIT) is a plus.
