Irrigation Technician Position Available In Washington, New York

Summary:

The Irrigation Technician will manage the installation of automatic irrigation systems for Toadflax Nursery’s Landscape Division in South Glens Falls, NY. Duties include working with landscape designers on layout, procurement of necessary materials, installation of new systems, and seasonal maintenance of existing irrigation systems.

Responsibilities:

Inspecting and loading equipment for the day’s work. Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service. Identify proper moisture levels for each crop and oversee irrigation planning. Work with landscape designers on irrigation layout. Procure all necessary materials for jobs. Installing new systems including pumps and electrical timers. Digging trenches and installing pipes and lines. Complete testing and routine maintenance checks of all customers’ irrigation systems. Troubleshoot and replace faulty parts. Complete paperwork necessary for billing.

Qualifications/requirements:

High school diploma or GED. 3+ years of proven work experience as an Irrigation Technician. Knowledge of irrigation and electrical timer systems. Experienced in reading and following complex blueprint designs. Good communication skills Knowledge of plumbing and heating is preferable. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions. Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects. Knowledge of soil, vegetation, and climate.
