Mount Joy, PA Job Description:

Grandview Vineyard is seeking a Full-time worker who will care for and maintain all aspects of the vineyard and grounds at a beautiful, 5.5 acre vineyard and family friendly facility. Bi-weekly pay, Hands-on training, with additional education opportunities. You will be expected to learn and participate in all aspects of viticulture operations, from planting to harvest and everything in between as well as general maintenance of the grounds. You will need to be hard working and capable of working independently. The ideal candidate will show ambition and the ability to handle more challenging work with the intention to grow with our company. The candidate will gain hands-on knowledge in viticulture. They will have the opportunity to work on and establish young vines from initial planting to optimal production.

Owner/General Manager Requirements:

Willingness to do literally any and all functions required to operate the vineyard A strong and proven work ethic Previous experience in farm, vineyard or orchard work is preferred but not mandatory Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills Ability to work alone without constant supervision Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills Working conditions in certain areas of the vineyard are cold, hot, wet, windy, slippery. Must be able to work in inclement weather Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Frequent walking and bending is required. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Responsible for all aspects of managing the vineyard, including but not limited to: Cultivation, thinning, pruning, tying, suckering, canopy management, planting and replanting and harvesting Erosion control, trellis installation/maintenance, frost protection, vineyard installation, fence installation Search out and evaluate vineyard problems and make recommendations that provide effective, timely and economic solutions and deliver quality fruit Operation of equipment such as tractors, tractor implements in order to accomplish various vineyard practices such as mowing and hedging. Operation of mowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers for maintenance of grounds and landscaping. Ensure that all necessary equipment is in good operating condition prior to use Follow safe operating procedures, maintain safety programs and policies to safeguard personal safety, company property, environmental and team member’s safety. Effectively communicate and work cooperatively with other staff
