Weekend and Holiday Livestock Farmer Fox Chase Farm- The School District of Philadelphia Rockledge, PA 19046 Job Overview MUST have experience with large animals (cows, pigs, sheep, goats, donkeys). Must have a Driver’s License. Must be able to obtain Clearances to accept a position.

Duties:

Wide range of farm needs. Feed and care for livestock on weekends and holidays. The feedings are split shifts, 7-10am, and then 3pm to 6pm (usually). The pay is $88.68/day. The job also includes the opportunity for extended hours for seasonal work, like mowing and trimming lawn may apply. Work is outside. Must be dedicated to caring for animals. This is a farm-school position, so you must have a clean record: Required Clearances include Child abuse, PA Criminal, FBI. Primary Duties Manage livestock, including feeding, breeding, and healthcare. Implement animal husbandry practices to ensure the well-being of farm animals. Operate and maintain farm machinery, including tractors, forklifts, and power tools. Additional Duties General Grounds Maintenance Assist in greenhouse operations, including planting, watering, and pest control. Utilize hand tools for various tasks such as planting, weeding, and maintenance. Work with the Farm Education Department as needed Maintain a clean and organized work environment on the farm. Experience Previous experience in farming or agricultural roles is preferred. Knowledge of equine care is a plus. Familiarity with mechanical systems related to farm machinery is beneficial. Experience using power tools and hand tools effectively in a farming context. Understanding of greenhouse management practices is advantageous. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various weather conditions.
