Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and hardworking individual to join our team as a part-time Farm Worker. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in organic hemp farming, including fieldwork, harvesting, and flower trimming. The position is part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, with a pay rate of $17/hour.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Assist with routine farm tasks including plant propagation, soil testing/amendment, irrigation assembly, planting, integrated pest management (IPM), and weed management. Participate in the harvesting of hemp plants and the processing of CBD hemp flower. Help with flower trimming and post-harvest processing to prepare products for sale. Maintain plant health and monitor for pests and diseases. Engage in invasive plant removal and general field maintenance.

Prerequisites:

Must have basic understanding of Google Workspace. Adequate transportation to be on site on time. Basic level of understanding regarding the cannabis plant and industry. Ability to lift and move 50-100 lbs. Willingness to work in all weather conditions. Background or interest in farming, landscaping, or plant cultivation. Interest in cannabis equity and political policy. Positive attitude and ability to work in a team setting.

Punctuality and reliability. Special skills and interests. General plant knowledge. Ability to take direction and work independently as well as in a team setting. Efficiency and speed in work. Suggested applicable university majors include Plant Sciences, Agriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Science, Biology, Sustainability Studies, Agricultural Business, Botany, and Ecology.

Compensation:

Part-time position: Approximately 20 hours per week.
