Full Job Description Job Summary:

The Irrigation Repair Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties. This role involves diagnosing and resolving issues with irrigation systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively. The Irrigation Repair Technician will work closely with clients and the irrigation team to deliver high-quality service and maintain optimal irrigation performance.

Key Responsibilities System Diagnosis and Repair:

Inspect and diagnose issues with irrigation systems, including leaks, broken sprinklers, and malfunctioning valves. Perform repairs and replacements of irrigation components such as pipes, valves, sprinkler heads, and controllers. Test irrigation systems after repairs to ensure proper operation and coverage.

Maintenance and Upgrades:

Conduct routine maintenance on irrigation systems to prevent issues and ensure efficiency. Adjust and calibrate irrigation systems to ensure optimal water distribution. Upgrade existing systems with new technology and components to improve performance and water efficiency.

Installation:

Assist in the installation of new irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties. Lay out and connect piping, sprinkler heads, and control systems according to design plans. Ensure installations are completed to company standards and local regulations.

Client Interaction:

Communicate with clients to understand their irrigation needs and concerns. Provide recommendations and solutions to improve system performance and efficiency. Educate clients on proper irrigation system use and maintenance.

Record Keeping and Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of work performed, including repairs, maintenance, and installations. Prepare detailed reports on system conditions and repair activities for clients and management. Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Properly uses all company apps and systems. Manages receipts.

Inventory and Supplies Management:

Manage inventory of irrigation parts and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels for repairs and installations. Order and replenish supplies as needed to support ongoing projects and repairs. Keep accurate records of parts used and inventory levels.

Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while performing tasks. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local codes and regulations. Conduct regular safety checks and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience in irrigation system maintenance, repair, and installation. Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, components, and best practices. Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of irrigation issues. Proficiency in using irrigation tools and equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication and customer service skills. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in irrigation system installation and maintenance. Experience with advanced irrigation technologies, such as smart controllers and drip irrigation. Knowledge of local water use regulations and conservation practices.

Work Environment:

This position requires extensive outdoor work in various weather conditions. Regular physical activity, including lifting, bending, and operating equipment. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet client needs.

Compensation:

Competitive hourly wage based on experience. Overtime pay. Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and retirement plans.
