Box 3 & 4. The percentage ofapples which are produced and packed by Sunrise Orchards, Inc. is 100%and ZERO percent of apples are grown by other producers. Workers will berequired to press apples into cider and pack apples in a packing house.

Workers must be able to complete the tasks required to press and bottleapple cider. Cider making duties may include, set up and operation ofcider press, performing all tasks involved in the process, as well asclean up, and store after pressing. Tasks include forklift operation toload bulk bins with apples on to processing equipment, operation ofapple grinder and distribution of and lining of apple mash onto pressracks. Operation of apple press, transfer pumps and manual bottling ofcider in cider jugs. Cleaning of the equipment is required after eachcider run, including washing down equipment with water and cleaning outof tanks with warm soapy water. Cleaning equipment also entails the useof a pressure washer to wash equipment and floors. Workers will packapples according to the quality and method of the employer. Workers willsort the apples according to size, color, and grade before packing; lineboxes, cartons or crates with treated paper or cardboard; place applesin containers for storage or shipment; and weigh, stamp grade, brand,and date of packing on container. Workers may operate trucks or othermulti-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on oroff farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops;transport workers from place to place around the farm properties duringthe workday (including on public roads to reach farmer’s fields);and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundryfacilities on an as-needed basis. Those that are requested to drive willbe required to possess a valid drivers license; no worker will berejected for not having a driver’s license. Workers will also performgeneral orchard tasks including but not limited to pruning and plantingapples trees, repairing apple storage bins, repairing fences, andrepairing trellises. Workers must have the knowledge and ability toprune, thin and train apple trees, and be willing to work in variedweather conditions. The work assigned will be physically demanding,bending, stooping and kneeling for long periods of time will berequired. Workers must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds frequently.

Workers must be able to handle and climb a 20-foot ladder repetitivelywhile carrying an apple picking bucket which is harnessed over theworkers shoulders to hand pick apples. Other duties will include drivinga tractor and picking up brushes from the orchard floor. Workers must beavailable to work 7-hour shifts Monday through Friday between the hoursof 7:00am – 7:00pm and be available to work 5-hour shifts within thehours of 7:00am – 7:00pm on Saturday and Sunday. Workers will be given a30-minute lunch break which is staggered between 11am – 1pm as decidedby the workers. Workers may choose where to eat their lunch and returnto work after their 30 minutes are up. The daily or weekly workschedules may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, orchardconditions, and other factors. Employers will notify workers of anychange to the schedule. The employer will provide 1 day of training andallow 2 days of work for the workers to satisfactorily perform dutiesdescribed in this job description. The employer will furnish to workerswithout cost all tools and equipment required to perform all dutiesassigned. Workers must be able to operate agricultural equipment safely,and work in various extreme eather conditions from damp, cold springand fall days to hot, humid summer days.
