Cultivation Manager Confidential Hawthorne, FL 32640 Position Summary The Cultivation Manager leads day-to-day greenhouse operations with a primary focus on the health, development, and quality of ornamental liner trays. This role oversees all aspects of cultivation including irrigation, fertilization, integrated pest management (IPM), and crop scheduling. The Cultivation Manager works cross-functionally with propagation, shipping, and maintenance teams to ensure plants meet or exceed customer quality standards. Ideal candidates will have professional horticultural experience, a deep understanding of plant physiology and pest management, and proven team leadership skills. Key ResponsibilitiesCrop Production & Cultivation Oversight Direct and monitor daily irrigation, fertilization schedules, and environmental adjustments (temperature, humidity, ventilation). Lead cultivation planning, including spacing, pruning, pinching, and growth regulator strategies for optimal crop timing and quality. Supervise receiving of liner trays from propagation and manage treatment protocols, including chemical and biological applications. Optimize growing conditions for a diverse range of species, ensuring consistency in plant performance and visual quality. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Oversee weekly crop scouting and lead the implementation of both preventative and curative pest and disease control methods. Maintain detailed records of all chemical/biological treatments and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and safety protocols. Analyze treatment effectiveness and adjust strategies proactively to minimize crop losses and resistance buildup. Shipping & Order Fulfillment Support Coordinate with the Shipping Coordinator to prepare, stage, and fulfill wholesale orders with consistent accuracy. Review and approve crop readiness prior to shipping; make adjustments to scheduling or cultivation practices as needed. Cross-Departmental Collaboration Work with the Propagation Department Lead to plan and schedule incoming plant materials and adjust space allocations accordingly. Communicate regularly with Production and Maintenance teams to ensure seamless transitions between propagation, cultivation, and shipping stages. Report irrigation, structure, or environmental system issues promptly to the Maintenance Technician and follow through on repairs. Team Management & Development Provide hands-on leadership and training for assistant growers and seasonal staff involved in daily crop care. Ensure SOPs for safety, crop handling, and sanitation are followed at all times. Lead by example in maintaining a clean, efficient, and productive working environment.
