Head Grower Agricultural Scientific Early Branch, SC 29916 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Head Greenhouse Grower for high quality flowers to join our team. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of crop production, including planning, planting, pest control, irrigation, fertilization, and harvesting. The ideal candidate will bring strong horticultural expertise, hands-on experience with flower species, and leadership skills to manage a team of growers and support staff. Customer experience and retail relationships preferred. Duties Oversee all greenhouse operations related to flower production, ensuring optimal crop quality and yield. Develop and implement crop schedules, fertility programs, and pest/disease management strategies. Manage environmental controls (temperature, humidity, CO2, lighting) for optimal plant health. Supervise and train assistant growers and greenhouse staff, fostering a productive and safe work environment. Monitor plant health daily, diagnose issues, and respond promptly with appropriate treatments or adjustments. Maintain accurate records of growing activities, chemical applications, inventory, and crop performance. Collaborate with the sales and logistics teams to meet production and delivery timelines. Evaluate and adopt new technologies and best practices to improve efficiency and product quality. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal agricultural regulations and safety standards. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agronomy, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial greenhouse flower production, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of flower varieties (e.g., cut flowers, bedding plants, perennials, potted plants). Proficient in greenhouse systems, irrigation controls, fertigation, and IPM (Integrated Pest Management). Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
