Job Responsibilities
This employee will be tasked with providing maintenance to the SCDNR’s public fishing lakes, assisting the Freshwater Fisheries section’s Hatchery Program, Regional Biologists, and Research Biologists, with their respective projects as needed.

Job Duties Include:

Assisting with providing maintenance of DNR public fishing lakes including but not limited to the following:
Lake fertilization, weed control, mowing, landscaping, litter control, and facility repairs/construction. Proving assistance within the Freshwater Fisheries section as needed,
Maintaining issued equipment.
Working with supervisor to provide assistance to SCDNR public relation and outreach efforts when requested.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and two (2) years of related experience in wildlife, fisheries or agricultural work; or an associate degree in the technical sciences.
Aquatic Pesticides License within six (6) months of hire date. CPR and First Aid Certification within one (1) year of hire date. Preferred Qualifications
Basic proficiency in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades. Ability to work in the field in adverse weather; safely operate small boats, landscaping equipment, and power tools; collect, enter, and manage data reliably; operate aquaculture equipment; work with and communicate with the public, co-workers, and supervisors; and perform heavy physical labor. Knowledge of pond draining and fish harvest operations preferred. Ability to participate in overnight travel. Employer
