Stores Director 1.3 1.3 out of 5 stars Fernandina Beach, FL 32034 Overview We are seeking an experienced and passionate Stores Director to lead the operations of our two retail stores. This pivotal role will focus on driving donations and sales, implementing a dynamic volunteer program, and fostering strong community relationships and partnerships. You will be responsible for strategic marketing and sales promotions aimed at raising the profile of our stores. This is not an entry-level position. Position Summary Nassau Humane Society improves the lives of homeless animals in our community by providing them shelter and compassionate care. Our work focuses on adoption services, education about responsible pet ownership, and working to reduce animal overpopulation and homeless pets. The Stores Director oversees and directs all business activities at NHS Second Chance Resale and The Closet Boutique. This includes leading the staff and volunteer teams at both stores that help make the stores such a success, developing the sales and marketing plans to meet sales targets and ensuring that the stores comply with health and safety regulations. The Stores Director will report to the Executive Director. Position Responsibilities Drive donations and sales to meet monthly and annual income targets. Ensure safety and cleanliness of work / customer environment, arranging necessary repairs and upkeep of internal and external property. Maintain excellent store conditions through branding, dynamic product presentation, organization and store cleanliness. Create and implement standard operating procedure manual for all store operations. Develop a viable volunteer program centered on organizational values and keep Volunteer Handbook updated and implemented. Create relationships and build partnerships in the community with local businesses and organizations to raise awareness and grow income. Establish a customer-service focused approach across both stores. Manage the stores employees, including schedule creation and timecard approvals. Manage and operate both store locations within established budgetary guidelines. Develop and implement strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve revenue objectives. Report weekly on sales figures with a diagnostic approach to performance against budget. Create relationships and build partnerships in the community with local businesses and organizations to raise awareness and grow income. Assist in developing and setting the annual budget for NHS Second Chance. Recruit, manage and train staff and volunteers. Foster a positive team culture centered around excellent customer service and teamwork. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and development opportunities. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. Core Skills & Qualifications Experience in retail management. Leadership experience in people management, including volunteers. Strong organizational and financial skills. Motivated self-starter with great attitude, flexibility, and entrepreneurial spirit. Ability to balance working independently and manage time effectively in a part-time capacity, seeking thought partnership and guidance. Ability to work under pressure to prioritize and manage workload and manage simultaneous tasks within a fast-paced and changing environment. Strong communications skills, both written and verbal. Excellent customer service skills.
