Fort Benning, Georgia Position Overview:
The DFAC Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dining facility at Fort Benning. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality food services, compliance with contractual obligations, and effective management of resources, including staff, budget, and inventory. The DFAC Manager will work closely with the Area Manager and Project Manager to maintain a professional environment and uphold the organization’s commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
Manage all aspects of dining facility operations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
Compliance and Standards:
Ensure adherence to all contractual requirements, health and safety regulations, and organizational policies.
Staff Management:
Supervise, train, and evaluate dining facility staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Resource Management:
Maintain budget controls for inventory, supplies, equipment ordering, and labor costs.
Customer Relations:
Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing any concerns promptly and professionally.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct regular inspections of the dining facility to ensure cleanliness, proper maintenance, and quality food service.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of two years of experience as a manager or assistant manager in a major culinary institution, large institutional food service operation, or military setting.
Knowledge:
Demonstrated competency in managing food services, labor, budgets, and other resources.
Skills:
Strong management and customer service skills Excellent oral and written communication abilities Ability to interpret and apply government contracts appropriately
Certifications:
ServSafe certification is required .
Work Ethic:
Solid work ethics with a commitment to maintaining high standards of service.
