Description:
The incumbent will be responsiblefor obtaining and verifying necessary demographic and insuranceinformation, including authorization/referrals/notifications(diagnostic, surgical, therapy, admissions/observations, and otherprocedures/treatments). Responsible for scheduling patients’appointments/procedures (initial, follow-up, and/or add-on), asapplicable. This position requires the incumbent to be in a callcenter type environment and responsible for meeting individualquality metrics (e.g., productivity, accuracy, customer service QA,etc.). Responsible for coordinating patient flow, timelyprocessing, maintaining knowledge and deployment of practices usedwithin the department/physician practice/hospital to addresspatient questions or concerns. Maintaining knowledge of insurancerequirements, Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF) pricing,financial assistance options, and overall BHSF Revenue Cycleoperations. Practices the Baptist Health philosophy of serviceexcellence in providing professional, compassionate and friendlyservice to patients of all ages, families, employees, physiciansand community members.
Qualifications:
Degrees:
High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper.
Additional Qualifications:
Complete and successfully pass the Patient Access trainingcourse. Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced workenvironment. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Detail oriented, organized, team player, compassionate,excellent customer service and interpersonal communicationskills.
Desired:
Basic knowledge of medical and insuranceterminology. Experience with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office,knowledge of EMR applications, etc.) and accurate typingskills. Knowledge of regulatory guidelines to include, but not limitedto, HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure, includingmedical necessity compliance guidelines. Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole.
