Full Job Description Description:
Job purpose The Recovery Coordinator functions as team leads and primary point of contact for the surgical recovery of tissue for transplant and research. The Recovery Coordinator ensures instruments and supplies used in the recovery activities, in accordance with standard operating procedures, follows all applicable regulatory standards. Duties and responsibilities Serves as the active leader of the Tissue Recovery Teams Aseptic recovery of tissue according to standards established by Vivex Biologics standard operating procedure manuals, AATB and state and federal regulations Assist in training of new recovery staff as directed Documents all recovery activities completely and accurately. Responsible for the ordering, receipt, storage and FIFO stock rotation of recovery supplies. Ensures compliance with all OSHA, Safety and HIPPA protocols. Schedule monthly cleaning of Recovery Suite(s). Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Qualifications Prefer Associates degree in Science or Certified Surgical Technologist Knowledge of gross anatomy and sterile techniques required. Prefer 2 years of experience, preferably in tissue/organ donation as a recovery team leader or member. Must be able to be on call as required. Must be able to work over assigned working time to complete recovery. Current driver’s license required. CTBS preferred or must obtain within two years of employment. Must possess excellent communications skills, both oral and written. Must present professional attitude and appearance at all times. Working conditions Exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens Travel to recovery sites: Hospital Operating Rooms, Medical Examiners, and Funeral Homes. Overnight travel is required. Physical requirements Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time for off-site recoveries. Must be on call for 24 hour time frames.
