Job Description
Boathouse Supervisor 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars 900 7th Ave, Garner, NC 27529 The Town is seeking multiple Boathouse Managers to assist with operations at Lake Benson Boathouse. These customer focused positions are responsible for maintaining and operating the Lake Benson Boathouse facility and assist the Recreation Programs Manager in supervising staff and scheduling. Ideal candidates are self-motivated and enjoy working with the public in an outdoor setting. Lake Benson Boathouse is scheduled to be open through October 26. The Boathouse will be staffed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Successful applicants will be scheduled 10-40 hours per week during the season with flexibility in scheduling on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays depending on availability.
Examples of Duties:
Supervising and scheduling Boathouse Operators Processing paperwork and payments for rentals and ensuring accuracy Collecting fees and maintaining records Inspecting and preparing boats and other equipment for use Monitoring the Boathouse and lake for the safety and comfort of participants Monitoring compliance with boating and fishing regulations and Town of Garner policies Communicating purchasing and equipment maintenance needs to Recreation Programs Manager Welcoming visitors and explaining rules and regulations for boat, kayak, and canoe rentals Opening and/or closing the facility Assisting with Town-wide special events as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must: Be able to safely lift 50 lbs. repeatedly during shift. Be at least 18 years of age. Be comfortable working independently and occasionally alone. Have a valid North Carolina driver’s license with a good driving record. Have a current CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire. Familiarity with boating operations and rentals, boating and fishing regulations, and operation of recreational facilities is preferred. This is a weekend position. Candidates must be available to work regularly on Fridays, Saturdays, and/or Sundays throughout the season.
Additional Information:
This is a seasonal position scheduled for 10-40 hours per week. Individual work schedules will vary and may include daytime hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Equal Opportunity Employer
