Commercial Fisherman/Deckhand please have experience on the water TMG commercial fishing Sea Isle City, NJ 08243 Job Overview As a Commercial Fisherman, you will play a crucial role in the fishing industry, responsible for catching and harvesting fish and other marine life for commercial purposes. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship while working in various weather conditions. You will be part of a team that operates fishing vessels, ensuring the efficient and sustainable capture of seafood. Responsibilities Operate and maintain fishing equipment, including nets, traps, and rigging systems. Navigate fishing vessels to designated locations while adhering to safety protocols. Monitor weather conditions and sea state to ensure safe fishing operations. Handle and process catches on board, ensuring quality control and compliance with regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vessel and equipment. Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients or suppliers regarding product quality and availability. Collaborate with team members to optimize fishing strategies and improve operational efficiency. Experience Previous experience in commercial fishing or related fields is preferred but not mandatory. Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for maintaining equipment and troubleshooting issues. Skills in hospitality or customer service can enhance interactions with clients and suppliers. Cooking skills are a plus for preparing fresh catches for personal use or demonstration purposes. A willingness to learn and adapt to the dynamic environment of commercial fishing is essential.
