Our store features an impressive selection of freshwater, saltwater, and coral livestock, and we take pride in offering both exceptional care for our animals and friendly, knowledgeable service to our customers.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a dependable, enthusiastic Aquarium Department Associate to join our team! This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with aquatic animals and helping people learn about aquarium care. You’ll be responsible for the care and upkeep of our fish and coral systems, maintaining clean and healthy tanks, educating customers about proper aquarium care, and assisting with livestock sales. Prior experience with aquariums is preferred, but we’re happy to train the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide daily care for freshwater fish, saltwater fish, and coral , including feeding, monitoring health, and performing water changes. Maintain clean, healthy, and organized aquarium systems , including routine tank cleaning, equipment checks, and water testing. Educate customers on aquarium setup, tank maintenance, water quality, and livestock compatibility , offering guidance to hobbyists of all experience levels. Assist customers in selecting livestock suited to their tank setups, ensuring proper recommendations for animal care and compatibility. Perform water tests for customers and interpret results, offering appropriate advice and product suggestions. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked department area, including tanks, counters, and workspaces. Monitor livestock health, report concerns, and follow proper procedures for care and system maintenance. Process livestock sales and assist with inventory, receiving, and restocking as needed. Provide friendly, helpful service and contribute to a positive, community-focused store environment.

Qualifications:

Fishkeeping or aquarium care experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. Previous retail experience is helpful but not required. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Friendly, outgoing, and customer-service-oriented personality. Comfortable handling fish, aquatic animals, and working with water and aquarium equipment.

Work Environment:

In-store, family-owned retail setting. Full-time and part-time positions available. Flexible scheduling available, including weekends.
