This is professional rehabilitation work in providing Vehicle Adaptive Equipment Mechanical and Functional Mid /Final Fitting Inspection for adaptive equipment installation and vehicle modifications.
Perform a Vehicle Adaptive Equipment Mechanical and Functional Mid /Final Fitting Inspection with the client, qualified driver rehabilitation service provider, and the NMEDA QAP-accredited dealer for all adaptive equipment installation and vehicle modifications.
Ensure that the adaptive equipment follows the Certified Driver Rehabilitation Service provider’s prescription, and that the adaptive equipment installation meets or exceeds NMEDA QAP and the manufacturer’s installation specifications.
Provide a functional inspection to verify that all adaptive equipment and vehicle modifications comply with the Certified Driver Rehabilitation Service provider’s prescription.
Provide functional inspection to ensure that the modifications are fitted to meet the individual’s functional needs and are consistent with the client’s abilities as outlined in the Certified Driver Rehabilitation Service provider’s prescription.
Perform an in-vehicle inspection to include observing the VR client driving, determining equipment fit, and demonstrating the driver’s ability to use the assistive devices while the vehicle is in motion.
Recommend / Provide
any additional training to ensure proficiency with vehicle modifications.
Ensure the NMEDA QAP-accredited dealer provides education on equipment care and use, warranties, manual override systems, lockout devices, and any other pertinent information for the vehicle’s driver or other drivers.
VR payment for vehicle modification services is contingent upon the successful completion of the Vehicle Adaptive Equipment Mechanical Inspection outcome. Ensure the functional inspection and VR paperwork are completed prior to the vehicle’s discharge and submission for authorization payment by the program manager. Minimum Qualifications 1. High school diploma or GED certificate.
2. Five (5) years of management/shop foreman experience in the field of vehicle and commercial adaptability installation, compliance adherence and inspection / audits for mobility needs with expertise in the application and industry standards of NHTSA, FMVSS, ISO, SAE, ANSI, NMEDA, QAP, and ADED.
3. Applicants must possess a valid Alabama driver’s license. Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties? Driving is a primary responsibility
