PRIMARY
FUNCTION
The Feed Mill Utility Associate performs housekeeping, cleaning, and tasks associated with ensuring the work area is safe, secure, presentable, and operational. This position also processes visitors, vendors and ensures that traffic flow and truck deliveries are processed correctly and orderly. The position also assists with the receiving of feed ingredients. The Feed Mill Utility Associate assists in emergency situations as requested.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Follow daily housekeeping procedures in the Feed Mill and conducts Feed Mill grounds maintenance.
Control access of staff, visitors, and trucks entering the property to ensure entry to those authorized are allowed to enter; verify credentials of all visitors and obtain approval from appropriate personnel. Review and log inspection paperwork for incoming and outgoing trucks, direct traffic and coordinate routes with appropriate personnel while trucks are on property ensuring trucks route to specified areas according to cargo carried (live animals or supplies).
Understand basic animal food safety and personal hygiene as it relates to the protection of animal food.
Perform all work in compliance with company policies, Animal Welfare guidelines and local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.
Notify supervisor when a suspected Quality or Food Safety event occurs. Perform daily cleaning of the Feed Mill facilities and grounds.
As required, inspect and record inspections of Feed Mill equipment on WSF property during off peak staff hours to ensure they are operating appropriately.
Report any issues/ discrepancies with logs, trucks, etc. to appropriate personnel as they arise.
Follow all safety protocols including wearing required personal protective equipment in areas where mandatory to support a Zero-Accident culture.
Assist with all emergency protocols as needed.
Assists in receiving duties of feed ingredients when required.
Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.

None. This is an individual contributor role with required competencies: Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly, and Interpersonal Savvy
EDUCATION and
CERTIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Must have a current and valid driver’s license and meet MVR requirements.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Ability to complete required logs and forms.
Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization, strong attention to detail, and the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, irregular, and extended shift hours.
Must be able to follow detailed processes.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory (hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, mask, safety vest). Individual will be exposed to noise requiring hearing protection (>85 decibels).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to climb a 125-foot ladder, and work at heights of at least 40 feet above a structure.
Ability to work non-standard shifts (Holiday, weekend and/ or extended) as needed per business requirements.
Ability to stand and move around for extended periods during the shift. Ability to work outdoors in all weather (hot, cold, dry and/ or wet)
Ability to work in dusty and noisy conditions.
Ability to wear required protective equipment
- hard hat, eye protection, vest, hearing protection.
Must be able to occasionally lift 60 - 100 pounds.
Ability to work low to the ground and other awkward, strenuous positions.
