The MFC provides expert management, protection, and information needed to keep Mississippi’s approximately 19.2 million acres of forestland healthy, productive, and prosperous. About the Position This position is with the MS Forestry Commission and is responsible for Area 35, which consists of Jasper and Clarke Counties. Incumbent will report to the Area Forester over Area 35. This is a first-level vocational Forestry position accountable for protecting, reforesting, and inventorying timberlands in accordance with Mississippi Forestry Commission regulations on private and public lands. Jobs at this level collaborate with federal agencies on forest land designations and critical area layouts and contact landowners giving advice on proper forestry management practices such as tree planting, timber stand improvement, and establishment of fire lanes.
