About the Position
- This is a time limited NS-14 position
- MFC will utilize two (2)
TIME-LIMITED
positions to accomplish the goals set forth in the Enhancing Gulf Waters through Forested Watershed Restoration program work plan. Work for these two positions is statewide, and a workspace/office will be setup as close as possible to the incumbent’s home. Examples of work for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Mapping out treatment areas
- Assist forester in training contractors
- Uses GIS, GPS, computers, and computer programs
- Assist forester in administering and promoting safety plan
- Informs landowners of available Forestry Incentive Programs and assists them in implementing needed forest management practices under program.
- Other duties and task assigned by supervisor
- Assisting with prescribed burn
- Writing prescription plans for landowners
- Receiving and process applications
- Assist with reporting
- Manage contractual labor
- Oversight of chemical inventory
- Trains employees and contractors
- Uses GIS, GPS, computers, and computer programs
- Administers and promotes safety plan
- Informs landowners of available Forestry Incentive Programs and assists them in implementing needed forest management practices under program.
- Report to the RESTORE Program Coordinator
- Other duties and task assigned by supervisor
