The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing cannabis manufacturing and packaging across multiple shifts within Crisp Cannabis’s Micro Cultivation facility. This role manages production schedules, staffing, inventory, regulatory compliance, and quality control, fostering continuous improvement, safety, and excellence. The Production Manager leads initiatives to boost efficiency, ensure compliance, and support business growth aligned with company goals. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end packaging and production: establish best practices, run internal audits, and drive efficiency (cost, inventory, safety) Oversees team members involved in Packaging, Harvest and Cure departments Develop and enforce SOPs, production targets, and CT Adult-Use Cannabis & labor compliance Design and work with front office team to implement packaging strategies, including material sourcing and equipment procurement Manage daily schedules, task assignments, and staffing to meet volume and sales goals Mentor and train team members through onboarding, coaching, and performance reviews Assist in inventory control and seed-to-sale tracking: analyze data, maintain records, and enforce environmental controls Supervise label printing, branding, and packaging to meet regulatory and brand standards Coordinate equipment maintenance and facility security, sanitation, and waste-disposal protocols Prepare reports to track productivity, costs, and improvement opportunities Partner with HR on hiring, performance management, and terminations; support Compliance & Security investigations Ensure audit readiness and lead corrective actions with QA and Compliance teams Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of production management experience, preferably in the cannabis industry. Proficiency in production planning, scheduling, inventory control, label printing, and ERP/MES systems. Strong knowledge of P&L management and KPI tracking (yield, OEE, labor efficiency). In-depth understanding of Connecticut cannabis regulations, seed-to-sale tracking, and QA/QC compliance. Proven experience in HR processes, including interviewing, training, performance management, and disciplinary actions. Physical Requirements The role requires standing for an eight-hour shift, using hands and fingers, talking, and hearing. The employee will frequently stand and walk, occasionally sit, climb, or balance, and lift/move up to 15-20 lbs. Clear vision is required.
