Dartmouth College Woodlands is looking for a highly motivated individual with a Forestry background to complete a Continuous Forest Inventory project at the Second College Grant in Northern New Hampshire. The Grant has a Continuous Forestry Inventory (CFI) program consisting of 150 permanent plots. These plots are measured periodically to help the Woodlands Office calculate growth and removals. Position is 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday; May through October 2025. Dartmouth College Woodlands Office is responsible for the management of 40,000 acres of woodland owned by Dartmouth College. Our largest property is the Second College Grant in Northern NH. This 27,000-acre parcel has been owned and managed by the College for 210 years. The College manages the property for timber production, recreation, and research and education. Required Qualifications
Minimum one- to two years in a forestry-related profession, or equivalent.
Must hold a valid US or Canadian driver license and receive Dartmouth Driver Approval status.
Must have a roadworthy insured and registered personal vehicle to perform duties of the position – work site is in a remote area.
Must be willing to work independently in a remote location.
Must be able to perform physically demanding field work and hike long distances over variable terrain, be comfortable navigating through the woods, and tolerate a range of weather and insect conditions. Preferred Qualifications
Undergraduate or graduate degree in forestry preferred.
Professional forestry skills preferred. FLSA

Duties include locating the plot, reestablishing plot centers, measuring all trees on the 10th acre fixed plot, and completing data entry of plot info into CFI data base.
