Sealing and Coating:
Apply sealants, adhesives, and coatings to aircraft components, assemblies, and systems to ensure airtight, watertight, and durable seals.
Surface Preparation:
Prepare and clean surfaces before sealing, ensuring compatibility with sealants and coatings.
Inspection and Quality Control:
Inspect completed sealing tasks for quality and compliance with aviation industry standards. Perform post-seal inspections to detect defects or inconsistencies.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of materials used, application methods, and work performed in accordance with industry regulations and company protocols.
Safety Compliance:
Follow strict safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments (engineering, maintenance, production) to ensure that sealing work is completed according to specifications and timelines.
Maintenance:
Assist in the maintenance and calibration of sealing equipment to ensure proper functionality. What we are looking for… You will need to:
Experience:
Previous experience in sealing, coating, or a related field, preferably within the aviation industry or aerospace manufacturing.
Technical Knowledge:
Familiarity with aviation-grade sealants, adhesives, and coatings (e.g., silicone, polyurethane, epoxy, etc.). Attention to
Detail:
Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality and precision in all sealing tasks.
Problem-Solving:
Ability to identify and resolve sealing-related issues efficiently and effectively.
Safety Awareness:
Knowledge of aviation safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. This will require you to pass a respirator safety test to ensure proper PPE is issued.
Communication:
Good verbal and written communication skills to document tasks and collaborate effectively with team members.
Physical Requirements:
Full-time position with potential for overtime or shift work, depending on project requirements. Work in a controlled, clean, and safe environment, including exposure to aircraft systems, machinery, and sealing equipment. Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role.
