Job Description
Camp Counselor In The Zone Child Care Services 501 Klondyke Rd, Long Beach, MS 39560 Overview To assist and supervise children during their out of school time and ensure a safe and nurturing environment. Also, to support the child-care program in providing quality care that will be safe, affirming, enjoyable and enriching to children. Role and Responsibilities Understands and demonstrates attendance and punctuality are vital. Provide leadership and guidance for one or more specific activity areas. Provide growth and development opportunities for each participant. Assist in the development and implementation of all aspects of program schedule. Responsible for the implementing approved bible devotionals daily. Provide opportunities for development of awareness in participants. Provide an enjoyable experience for each participant. Be familiar with emergency procedures and follow them. Ensure children are always supervised and proper adult to children ratios required by the State of Mississippi are maintained at all times. Establish routines and provide positive guidance and implement positive discipline when required. Set a good example in promptness, manners, language, health, and appearance (uniform required). Set a good example in respect and care for the outdoors and others property. Ability to work with children of all abilities and disabilities and provide for each of their respective needs. Ensure roll call is taken, accurate and head count is accurate throughout the day. Perform cleaning duties as directed. The ability to perform any other tasks that would be related to the operation of In The Zone. Qualifications and Education Requirements High School diploma, GED, or higher or currently enrolled Ability to adapt to the center’s needs and hour Current child/adult CPR and First Aid certification or willing to obtain Reliable transportation to and from work Must be eligible and pass MSDH Background Check Physical Requirements Walking, squatting, climbing, hearing, swimming, standing for periods longer than one hour, pushing (50 lbs.), lifting (50 lbs.), sitting, pulling (50 lbs.), clear speech and good vision Must be able to lift and move In The Zone equipment properly as need arise. Must be physically able to participate in high-energy activities with students
