Preschool Morning Snack Person & Afternoon Floater The Children’s Institute at Jericho Jericho, VT 05465 Summary We are looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable Snack Person and Floater to support a mixed age of toddlers and preschoolers within a Montessori environment. Duties During the first part of the day this individual will be responsible for the development of a weekly snack menu, the coordination of grocery orders through parents, and the preparation of food in accordance with clean and sanitary practices, while adhering to established recipes and portion control guidelines. The second half of the day would be covering staff breaks and planning time. The primary duty of this role involves serving snacks to students following the Montessori approach. This method emphasizes student independence, the promotion of healthy eating habits, and the development of fine motor skills. During snack time, children serve themselves using numbered snack cards and may also participate in food preparation activities such as slicing fruits or cheese. The afternoon duties would involve assisting lead teachers, supervising children, and ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment. Requirements Complete the Fundamentals and VT Orientation training. ?If you have an Associate Degree or higher one of the Fundamentals requirement may be met. Pass a Background Check Provide 3 employer references First Aid/CPR – will provide if not already obtained?
