Director of Grounds and Landscape Management Confidential Tarpon Springs, FL 34688 Job Summary The Superintendent plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing landscape maintenance and groundskeeping activities. This position requires a strong leader who can effectively supervise a team, ensuring that all landscaping projects are executed to the highest standards. The Superintendent will be responsible for maintaining gardens, caring for trees, and managing irrigation systems to create and sustain beautiful outdoor spaces. Duties Lead and supervise a team of groundskeeping staff to ensure efficient operations and high-quality landscape maintenance. Oversee the maintenance of gardens, including planting, pruning, and fertilizing plants to promote healthy growth. Manage tree care activities, including trimming, removal, and disease management to ensure the safety and aesthetics of the landscape. Implement irrigation systems and monitor water usage to maintain optimal soil moisture levels for plant health. Conduct regular inspections of landscaped areas to identify maintenance needs and develop action plans accordingly. Coordinate with other departments or contractors as necessary for larger landscaping projects or specialized tasks. Maintain equipment used in landscape maintenance and ensure all tools are in good working condition. Train new staff on best practices in landscape maintenance, safety protocols, and equipment use. Skills Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of supervising teams effectively. Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques, including plant care, irrigation management, and groundskeeping practices.
