General Summary This position involves managing the daily operations of the Extreme Sports Park which may include the BMX Raceway and mountain bike trails. The individual must maintain proper conditions for the various features to include the race way, perform routine maintenance for basic operations and assist in preparation of races and events. The individual supervises and manages staff, complete staff schedules, and prepare documents such as, but not limited to: financial reports, activity rosters, write reports and proposals for events and programming and has frequent interaction with other BREC staff, volunteers, park patrons and general public.
Requirements and Job Specifications Education Required:
High school Graduate or equivalent License(s)
Required:
Valid LA driver’s license.
Years Relevant Work Experience:
6 months or more experience or equivalent combination of experience and training in one or more of the following areas: cycling, BMX raceways, trails, skating or skate boarding.
Other Job Specifications:
•First Aid & CPR certification w/in 30 days of hire
Coordinating, scheduling and assisting with extreme sport activities, promoting activities through contact with the public and members;
Assisting visitors at the various amenities within the extreme park;
Ensuring maintenance of BMX Raceway and equipment, including holds, harnesses, shoes, ropes and more;
Maintaining financial records and reports in accordance with BREC standards;
Supervising volunteer and paid staff
Enforcing BREC Rules and Regulations Functions and Duties Essential Functions and Duties:
Administers daily operations of the BMX raceway.
Plans, schedules and prepares facilities for all scheduled events.
Actively promotes the facility and its programs.
Creates, plans and develops facility programs such as cycling and skating instructions, day camps, special events and races.
Provides and maintains administrative records such as financial reports, attendance records, personnel documents and other reports as required; develops and maintains operating budget for the facilities Secondary Job Duties
Ensures ongoing training for all facility employees including customer service, safety issues, equipment operation.
Evaluates and maintains inventory of equipment and supplies.
Assists other BREC departments with special events. Supplemental Information Part-time position, Hours may vary – up to 29 hours per week, may include nights and weekends.
