The Foreman will be responsible for overseeing a crew of landscapers and managing a company truck, ensuring that all routine maintenance tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This hands-on leadership position involves providing direction, maintaining equipment, and ensuring excellent customer service while upholding the company’s commitment to high-quality landscape care. •Must have a valid drivers license!•
Duties Team Leadership and Supervision:
Lead, supervise, and train a crew of landscape maintenance workers, ensuring tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, and general upkeep of landscapes are performed effectively and on schedule.
Truck and Equipment Management:
Oversee and manage a company truck, ensuring it is stocked with the necessary tools, equipment, and materials for each day’s tasks. Ensure the truck is maintained, cleaned, and in good working order.
Project Coordination:
Organize and schedule daily tasks for the crew, ensuring timely and efficient completion of landscape maintenance projects for clients.
Quality Control:
Inspect all completed work to ensure it meets company standards and client expectations. Provide feedback and corrections to crew members when necessary.
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce safety procedures on all job sites, ensuring crew members use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices. Conduct daily safety briefings with the crew.
Client Interaction:
Serve as a point of contact for clients during maintenance visits, addressing any concerns, answering questions, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction with services.
Inventory and Materials Management:
Track and manage supplies and equipment on the truck, ensuring that all necessary materials are available for work and that equipment is well-maintained and in good working condition.
Problem Solving:
Troubleshoot any issues that arise on-site, from equipment malfunctions to crew concerns, ensuring minimal disruption to the work schedule.
Documentation and Reporting:
Complete job tickets and maintenance logs as required, providing detailed records of work performed and any special requests or notes about the site.
Requirements Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in landscape maintenance or related fields, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional certification in horticulture, landscape maintenance, or a related field is a plus.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills In-depth knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques (mowing, trimming, fertilization, irrigation systems, etc.) Ability to operate and maintain landscape equipment and tools Strong organizational and time management abilities Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to manage and maintain a company truck and its supplies
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Additional certifications, such as pesticide applicator license or first aid/CPR, are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform manual labor in varying weather conditions.
