Description Thomann Asphalt is a family-owned full-service asphalt paving company. Thomann’s extensive experience has kept the contractor in business for almost 100 years. The Company’s primary focus is on commercial and industrial paving and site work projects in both the private and public sector. We specialize in parking lot maintenance, including paving, patching, striping, seal coating, crack sealing, drain work, and site work, which includes a full complement of grading, excavating, and utility installation services. We are currently searching for a Site Development Foreman to join the team! Pay range is $32.00 – $42.00 per hour. Essential Functions Ensure all company policies (including safety), laws and regulations are adhered to Establish and maintain safe working environments for all crew members Provide direction and supervise the work of equipment operators and laborers responsible for preparing and finishing projects Oversee project scope to include site clearing, erosion control, excavation, utilities, grading, irrigation and landscaping Ensure project progress is meeting customer specifications and regulatory compliance Effectively manage project material and resources while communicating with crew members, project management, and customers Consult blueprints and drawings to ensure the accuracy of each project Understand and set grades using GPS software Delegate tasks and provide guidance and leadership Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure adequate resources are available and recommend adjustments as needed Maintain production, labor and equipment reporting daily Safely operate heavy equipment such as an excavator, dozer and grader Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibility This position has supervisory responsibilities of three (3) to six (6) team members. Work Environment This job operates primarily in an outdoor work environment, in all weather conditions. Travel This position may require travel and out of town work on occasion. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Extended hours, nights and weekend work may be necessary based on business needs. While in season the typical work week is approximately 50-60 hours. Physical Demands The employee is frequently required to stand and occasionally climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to push, pull, move and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to climb and descend a flight of stairs as needed. Bonuses Requirements:
Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED required Three (3) + years of experience as an excavation foreman or supervisor, with experience leading crews Previous experience in site development for commercial and/or industrial projects is preferred Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization Qualifications Team Player Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to enforce compliance with safety regulations Proficiency in the operation of heavy equipment Desire and ability to train others Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively handle multiple tasks at one time Self-motivated, safety-minded, dependable and detail-oriented Outstanding organizational and time-management skills Adherence to the attendance policy
