Full Job Description Description:
This position is responsible for supervising all golf course maintenance functions on the Arthur Hills golf course. Supervise work force of equipment operators, summer laborers, irrigation technicians, spray technicians and mechanics to ensure all of these employees are trained and protected properly for their assigned task. Aide in preparation of annual capital and operating budgets, controlling expenses in order to stay within approved expenditure amounts. Aide in formulating chemical and fertilization programs and synchronizing these programs as much as possible with other Company operated golf course maintenance departments in order to realize expense economics. Keep daily records on all golf course maintenance expenditures, as well as accurate daily weather records and job activities. Supervise all tournament-related golf course preparations. Coordinate all golf course equipment maintenance operations with equipment maintenance personnel to ensure proper preventive maintenance is being performed and that Company equipment is being cared for properly by operators. Cooperate with Company Landscape Maintenance Department in identifying any “gray” or common areas not being maintained properly and mutually decide which department can best maintain these areas and follow through with this decision. Ensure all employees are treated equally in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws. Order and purchase all golf course related materials, i.e. pesticides, fertilizers, tools and operational supplies according to operating plan and budget. Training of maintenance staff in accordance with company policies and procedures. Ensure all employees are complying with OSHA safety regulations Validate all MSDS information is current and accessible to all staff Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS Spray Applicators License 3 years experience as an Assistant Superintendent and/or in a Golf Course Management position Computer skills a must (Microsoft Office Package) Strong verbal and written communication skills Spanish speaking preferred Strong management experience Strong leadership skills Ability to lead and direct subordinates Ability to effectively interact with all levels of associates within the organization
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS 3
years experience as a Superintendent preferred Experience in multi facility management 4 year degree in Turf Grass Management, Agronomy, Facilities Maintenance or related field preferred, but not mandatory
