Grounds Supervisor 2.9 2.9 out of 5 stars Orangeburg County, SC Job Responsibilities Supervise daily building and grounds maintenance activities, inventory, and campus records. Plan and conduct routine grounds inspections, utilizing resources to accomplish grounds maintenance tasks and schedule preventative maintenance for facilities and grounds equipment. Direct campus activities associated with grounds maintenance, contractual services, and associated subordinates. Oversee activities related to ground equipment and grounds maintenance. Maintain an inventory of grounds supplies and manage the storage and application of pesticides/herbicides related to grounds and campus maintenance. Assist with building supervision and housekeeping efforts. Maintain records and prepare weekly reports regarding work activities. Aid in the coordination and monitoring of campus setups. Position is considered working supervisor that validates and coordinates the work of others. Minimum and Additional Requirements HS diploma and custodial or groundskeeping experience directly related to the area of employment. Preferred Qualifications Category 3 Pesticide license preferred. Additional Comments Duties include climbing stairs and working from elevated levels—frequent stooping, bending, and working in awkward positions. Tasks also involve working with power equipment and moving parts, including exposure to hazardous waste materials, caustic substances, or paint fumes.
