Irrigation Installation Foreman Position Overview :

The Irrigation Installation Foreman is responsible for leading and coordinating installation projects of various irrigation systems for residential, commercial, and landscaped environments. This role requires a strong background in both traditional and 2-wire irrigation systems, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints and manage a crew effectively. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, ensuring quality and efficient installations while maintaining a safe job site. Key Responsibilities Irrigation System Installation Install and oversee the installation of both traditional and 2-wire irrigation systems. Perform system layout and ensure that installation meets design specifications and project requirements. Handle trenching, piping, valve assembly, and head placement according to the plans. Blueprint & Plan Interpretation Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents to execute projects accurately. Translate plans into actionable steps for the crew, ensuring project scope and specifications are met. Crew Management & Leadership Supervise and train team members, delegating tasks based on experience and skill level. Coordinate daily schedules, monitor work quality, and ensure tasks are completed on time. Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing company policies and safety protocols. System Hydraulics & Lake Pump Installations Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of system hydraulics as it pertains to landscape irrigation systems. Oversee and implement lake pump installations or other water source pumps, ensuring efficient water delivery and pressure. Troubleshoot and resolve hydraulic challenges for optimal system performance. Maintenance & Troubleshooting Conduct pressure tests, flow checks, and system tuning to ensure functionality and efficiency. Diagnose and resolve issues such as leaks, controller malfunctions, and wiring problems. Implement best practices for preventative maintenance to extend the life of installed systems. Administrative & Reporting Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources. Communicate progress and any project challenges to supervisors. Maintain accurate records, including daily work logs, material usage, and crew timesheets. Compliance & Safety Adhere to all local and state regulations regarding irrigation, water usage, and environmental compliance. Ensure the crew follows all safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of tools and machinery. Customer Relations Act as the on-site point of contact for clients, answering questions, and addressing concerns. Uphold a professional demeanor to represent the company positively. Provide guidance to property owners on system usage and basic maintenance.

Qualifications & Requirements Experience :

3+ years of experience in irrigation installation, with proven expertise in both traditional and 2-wire systems. Previous supervisory or foreman-level experience preferred.

Technical Skills :

Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, plan sets, and system schematics. Strong understanding of irrigation principles, system hydraulics, and lake pump installations. Skilled in using various hand and power tools, trenchers, and other industry-specific equipment.

Certifications & Licenses :

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Any relevant irrigation or landscape certifications (e.g., Certified Irrigation Technician) are a plus.

Other Requirements :

Drug-free with the ability to pass pre-employment and random drug tests. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and stand or walk for extended periods. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, taking ownership of project outcomes.
