Groundsman/Laborer J. Worthington LLC Shorter, AL 36075 Overview The Grounds Maintenance Worker plays a vital role in ensuring the aesthetic appeal and functionality of outdoor spaces. This position involves a variety of tasks related to landscape maintenance, including mowing, tree care, and hardscape management. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working outdoors and a commitment to maintaining high standards of property upkeep. Duties Perform regular mowing and trimming of lawns to maintain neat and healthy grass. Execute landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, weeding, and mulching. Utilize power tools and hand tools for various grounds maintenance activities. Conduct tree care activities including tree trimming and general upkeep. Fence Building Assist in the installation and maintenance of hardscape features such as patios and walkways. Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools and equipment used in grounds maintenance. Report any issues or necessary repairs regarding landscaping or equipment to the supervisor. Skills Proficiency in using power tools such as lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, and heavy machinery . Knowledge of tree care techniques including trimming and disease management. Experience with grading/ excavation equipment is a plus for other operations. Familiarity with garden maintenance practices, including planting and pest control. Strong understanding of landscape maintenance principles to ensure healthy outdoor environments. Ability to perform hardscape installation and repairs effectively. Competence in using hand tools safely and efficiently for various tasks. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards in all work performed.
