Groundskeeper Position Available In Capitol Planning Region, Connecticut

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Groundskeeper to oversee the landscaping and exterior maintenance of multiple dispensary locations across Connecticut. This role is essential in maintaining the curb appeal, safety, and cleanliness of our dispensaries. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and takes pride in creating inviting and well-maintained environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain landscaping at each dispensary location, including mowing, trimming, weeding, pruning, planting, and seasonal cleanup.
Ensure parking lots, walkways, and entrances are clean, safe, and free of debris, snow, and ice (as applicable).
Conduct routine exterior inspections to identify and report potential maintenance issues (e.g., irrigation leaks, lighting outages, pest concerns).
Perform minor exterior repairs and maintenance, such as touch-up painting, power washing, trash removal, and fence or sign upkeep.
Monitor and replenish outdoor supplies as needed (ice melt, trash bags, mulch, etc.).
Coordinate with vendors or internal teams for specialized maintenance or repairs.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and ensure proper storage.
Create and follow a regular maintenance schedule across all assigned locations.
Travel between sites as needed, ensuring consistency in quality and appearance. Minimum Qualifications Organized and detail oriented with ability to execute change management.
Solid project management, conflict resolution and people management skills.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years of experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or exterior maintenance.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple locations.
Knowledge of landscaping tools, irrigation systems, and seasonal plant care.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high visual standards. Preferred Qualifications Physical and Mental Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a standing position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 50 lb. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus.
