gardener Root and Stalk, Inc. Hudson, NY 12534 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest and experience in horticulture and landscape maintenance (not lawn care), with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role involves caring for various plants, maintaining gardens, and ensuring that outdoor spaces are aesthetically pleasing and healthy. Duties Perform landscape maintenance tasks including pruning, deadheading, fertilizing, mulching, planting, staking, seasonal clean ups Utilize hand tools and power tools for various gardening tasks Conduct regular inspections of gardens and landscapes to identify issues such as pests or diseases Maintain cleanliness and organization of gardening tools and equipment Collaborate with team members on larger landscaping installations as needed Requirements Previous experience in gardening or landscape maintenance is mandatory (3+ years) Good physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks such as lifting up to 50lbs, bending, and digging Excellent knowledge of native and ornamental plant ID and culture Excellent understanding of seasonal maintenance techniques Excellent time management A fine gardener’s attention to detail A friendly and respectful demeanor with coworkers and clients Ability to follow direction precisely Willingness to work in all kinds of weather pivoting as needed Ability to drive a cargo or mini van on installation days or nursery runs would be helpful A functioning smart phone and reliable transportation are a must!
