Your Passion:
The Ground Supervisor is responsible for the day to day workload of groundskeeping at Fort Lauderdale Campus as well as the satellite campuses. This includes maintaining the areas outside the church buildings such as walkways, parking lots, roadways, and landscaped grounds by way of irrigation, fertilizing, pesticide applications, and grass maintenance. The Grounds Supervisor is flexible in working with a variety of individuals as part of a team that works together to accomplish the diverse tasks associated with grounds and landscape of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale and its off-site properties.

You Will:
Be responsible for the basic day to day operations of the Grounds team (20% of your time) Participate in all tasks related to maintaining the areas outside the church buildings including cleaning walkways, parking lots, and roadways; landscaping grounds; lawn maintenance; and operation of irrigation systems and grounds maintenance equipment (15% of your time) Be responsible for the Irrigation of the Calvary Chapel FTL Property. You will be responsible for keeping the irrigation systems in good working order (15% of your time) Be involved with the installation of new plants, trees, and grass. Work includes excavation, material handling, planting, and establishing irrigation to newly landscaped areas (10% of your time) Assist in the proper operation of irrigation systems. Work involves learning the layout and operation of existing systems and controls, installation of additional components, and on-going service of operating systems (10% of your time) Research new concepts to Grounds Maintenance and irrigation techniques. Be required to stay updated with new systems and new technology (5% of your time) Utilize various tools, equipment, and materials to accomplish the work. Assists with the service and proper care of tools and equipment. Responsible for assuring that these items are cleaned, serviced, and properly stored after each use (5% of your time) Receive work assignments from the Ground Manager and works with a team to accomplish goals (5% of your time) Provide training, instruction and leadership to others within the grounds maintenance team in proper work practices, operation of equipment and tools, and safe work methods (10% of your time) Participate in church workdays, special events and emergency situations (5% of your time)
You Have:
The ability to assist in leading others and serve as an example Prior experience in the area of grounds maintenance, landscaping, irrigation, pesticide applications, athletic field maintenance The ability to drive and maneuver landscape trailers to transport equipment Pesticide application experience Service, usage, and maintenance of lawn equipment experience Willingness and ability to perform physical work A hands-on approach to overseeing the completion of daily tasks Good organizational skills Good interpersonal skills for relating effectively with staff, temporary employees, volunteers, and outside vendors Flexibility with good time management skills Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time Must be able to lift 50 lbs., stand for a long period of time, bend Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments Will adhere to all aspects of Employee Handbook including “Expectations and Work Standards” This job description in no way implies that the duties listed here are the only ones the employee can be required to perform.
