The ideal candidate will have a passion for maintaining beautiful landscapes and ensuring that outdoor spaces are clean, safe, and visually appealing. This role requires hands-on work with various tools and equipment to perform landscape maintenance and lawn care tasks effectively. Employee’s must be able to test or hold a Florida Pesticide License (LF, LL, LC, CM Aquatic). Spray treatment of weeds plays an important role in the scope of work. Main target Certifications of applicator are Limited Commercial Landscape and Aquatic Pest Control. Full list previously mentioned above. Work location is at the Florida Power & Light St. Lucie Nuclear Power Plant, 6501 S. Ocean Blvd., Jensen Beach, FL 34957. Monday through Friday 7am-3:30. Duties Perform regular lawn care activities including mowing, edging, fertilizing and/or weed control spraying. Maintain gardens by planting, weeding, pruning, tree trimming and watering plants and grass. Utilize heavy equipment, water craft, hand tools and power tools for various landscaping tasks. Maintain and provide basic maintenance of power equipment. Conduct landscape maintenance to ensure the aesthetic quality of the grounds. Irrigate lawns and gardens as needed to promote healthy growth. Maintain all aspects of irrigation function. Clear debris from walkways, parking lots, and other outdoor areas to maintain cleanliness. Assist in the installation of new landscaping features as directed. Monitor the health of plants and report any issues to management. This position is full time with benefits package including optional medical, vision, dental, 401k and paid Holidays. Responsible for the cleanliness of the chemical room, spray tanks, and vehicle. Responsible for the upkeep, repairs, and maintenance of the spray tanks used to apply chemicals. Wear Personal Protective Equipment. Report damaged or worn out equipment to supervisor. Demonstrate courtesy to all Members at all times. Performs other duties as requested pertaining to Land Utilization. Must Possess current FL Aquatic Pesticide Applicator License, Limited Commercial Maintenance & Landscape License and Best Management Practices Cert within 60 days of hire. Employer shall cover cost of first testing attempt and subsequent training material. Qualifications Must be able to pass a Power Plant extensive background check and random drug screening i.e. no felonies or DUI’s in the last ten years. Previous experience in grounds keeping or landscape maintenance is required. Familiarity with landscape design principles and horticulture is a plus. Proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and appearance. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Good physical stamina; must be able to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor for extended periods. A valid driver’s license is required. Florida pesticide applicators license required with in 90 days . Proficient in operating small water craft. Experience in operating various heavy equipment i.e. skid steer, tractor with mower deck, forklift.
