This position is located in Southwest Orlando / Dr. Phillips area This is a full time position that requires both gardening knowledge as well as some level of expertise as a “handyman” . You may not have all, but you should have a significant amount of each requirement.

Gardening:

Knowledge of a wide variety of plants and their needs ; (irrigation, pest control, fertilization, pruning, weed control, mulching, etc.) Handyman skills: Irrigation, minor electricity, minor carpentry, painting, minor plumbing, power washing, power tools including chain saws etc. This is a physically demanding position. It is all outdoor work (Very hot summers). Requires lifting up to 60 pounds on occasion. Must also be able to climb ladders to prune when necessary. Ability to work efficiently without supervision , after learning the requirements of the position. (Put another way, the applicant needs to be self motivated enough to see what needs to be done and does it.) REQUIRED

to:

• Be reliable , arriving at work, on time, day after day.
• Not have burdensome personal issues (family, health, or other issues that will affect their ability to do the job).
• Read, write and speak English well.
• Pass a drug test.
• Not have a police record .
• Must provide at least three work references
• NOT personal references Other relevant aspects of the position:
• Position provides a 40 hour a week paycheck every two weeks, 8 paid holidays and vacation depending upon length of employment. There are no other benefit programs except Workman’s Compensation Insurance and government required participation in Social Security and Medicare.
• Cell Phone will not be carried while on the job.
• Nor is any form of music or radio to be carried while working.
